Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts: Share Your Story
First of all, we thank everyone again for the wonderful, touching outpouring of support and love for Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts and our very special islands paradise. Please keep your thoughts and prayers positive for us and for our community as we begin the recovery process.
While our team of Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts management leaders have begun to create a plan of action to bring our resorts back to successful and exemplary operation as quickly as possible, we want to keep you in touch with each other by sharing memories or favorite moments at one of our resorts. Whether you recall vacationing with family at Beachview Cottages, or relaxing at the beach with your friends at ‘Tween Waters Island Resort, this is a space for you to recall those moments with each other: a place to share your story.

Guest Ambassador Assistance Program
On behalf of all of our team members, we sincerely appreciate the outpouring of love and support we’ve received over the past several days in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Thankfully, everyone is safe, secure and accounted for. We have created a GoFundMe with 100% of the proceeds to benefit employees in need of financial assistance.

It was a very hectic Christmas and I was a little burnt out. My guy planned a trip to Tween early January. We thought the flight would never leave it was delayed hours but we got there in the evening and found this lovely paradise. It was the best trip in every way. We are forever hooked on Tween and will return again and again with family!

Christmas time a few years back…was always my dream to see Captiva! I took my husband, daughter, and my parents. What a special place. Wonderful family memories. It was a dream like island vacation! I will return!

My family and I have been visiting the island for 30 years and we have been coming to Tween every year for the past 15 years. There are so many memories to look back on! My favorite memory of ‘Tween is getting married there last year on your beautiful beach. It was the perfect day, and we even got some lava flows at the pool bar in between the ceremony and reception :)
(We’re excited to bring our daughter there for the 1st time next May!)

Some of my most precious memories are from the family vacations we would take to the Beachview cottages each April. From running down to my family to relaxing on the wooden structure overlooking the gulf to shelling with mom and chasing lizards in the evenings up the palm trees. The sand path to the ocean lined with colorful cottages with palm trees towering overtop will always have a special place in my heart.

Once we found you, it was no turning back.
Staying in a cottage or our 2nd floor beach building.

We knew nothing about the magical place of Captiva Island, but knew we wanted an intimate destination wedding with our close friends & family. A stranger mentioned Sanibel/Captiva and with that we took to the internet to find out what we could. It was 1999, the internet was not what it is today, so we did the next best thing & called the chamber of commerce along with every resort/inn they gave us numbers for. Lucky for us our second call was to ‘Tween Waters & the front desk clerk was so kind & helpful. Destination weddings were not a big business at the time, so she put me in contact with Patricia Slater. Patricia took care of evert detail with the resort, florist, photographer, she even had a saxophone player for us! Even though our wedding party was very small the staff at ‘Tween Waters (Old Captiva House) made us feel like we were the most important people to them. When rain threatened our beach ceremony the Old Captiva House staff was quick to make room for us on their covered patio. After the ceremony we had one of the best meals with our family at Old Captiva House. When we think back on that day (honeymoon week) we will always reminisce about the beauty of the resort & island, but also the kindness of the people.
Last year was the first time we had been back to Fort Myers. While our family didn’t make it out to Sanibel/Captiva during our trip. I was able to take girlfriends over and spend the day at ‘Tween Waters. Twenty-two years later, and I wish I could find the stranger that told me about this beautiful place to thank them for introducing me to it.
We know you will be back, stronger than ever & we will be there again with you!

My husband and I came to Sanibel for our first time about 10 years ago and stayed in cabin 28. We loved everything about it and have been back five more times since. Captain Joey is our favorite fishing guide and we’ve had so much fun catching with him, lounging on the beach and walking over to the Lazy Flamingo! We pray for all of your recovery and hope to be back when Castaways reopens. Here’s our February 2022 favorites pics!

We love vacationing to Westwind!! We have lots of memories there and just Sanibel itself !! We Celebrated birthdays and anniversaries there! We even come over to the WW from Ft Myers just to enjoy lunch and have a drink at the bar or to take a stroll on the beach!! Best place ever! We plan to be back as soon as we are allowed to get back on the Island!!

One of our favorite memories, we still often talk about our stays there. This is my mom and I from the mid-1980s.
