We knew nothing about the magical place of Captiva Island, but knew we wanted an intimate destination wedding with our close friends & family. A stranger mentioned Sanibel/Captiva and with that we took to the internet to find out what we could. It was 1999, the internet was not what it is today, so we did the next best thing & called the chamber of commerce along with every resort/inn they gave us numbers for. Lucky for us our second call was to ‘Tween Waters & the front desk clerk was so kind & helpful. Destination weddings were not a big business at the time, so she put me in contact with Patricia Slater. Patricia took care of evert detail with the resort, florist, photographer, she even had a saxophone player for us! Even though our wedding party was very small the staff at ‘Tween Waters (Old Captiva House) made us feel like we were the most important people to them. When rain threatened our beach ceremony the Old Captiva House staff was quick to make room for us on their covered patio. After the ceremony we had one of the best meals with our family at Old Captiva House. When we think back on that day (honeymoon week) we will always reminisce about the beauty of the resort & island, but also the kindness of the people.

Last year was the first time we had been back to Fort Myers. While our family didn’t make it out to Sanibel/Captiva during our trip. I was able to take girlfriends over and spend the day at ‘Tween Waters. Twenty-two years later, and I wish I could find the stranger that told me about this beautiful place to thank them for introducing me to it.

We know you will be back, stronger than ever & we will be there again with you!
